Kaatrin Mozhi will now release in November 2018 after Diwali avoiding clash with Vijay’s Sarkar and Dhanush’s Ennai Nokki Paayum Thotta.
The decision to reschedule the release date was taken by the makers after multiple films were lined up around the same date for release.
Producer Dhananjayan tweeted about the postponement of the film and said that it’s going to be a hard battle. "#KaatrinMozhi release date: it's raining new films week after week. We scheduled for October 18 but looking at the list approved, it will be a hard battle to get proper theatres/shows.
So we're postponing the release to November, post Diwali. Will keep you updated. Thank you [sic]" his tweet read.

October 18th is also the release date of big-ticket film Sandakozhi 2 which stars Vishal in the lead role which will have an impact on the collections on a medium-budget film like Kaatrin Mozhi. This led the producers to push the release date further to avoid any clash with big budget films like Sarkar or Ennai Nokki Paayum Thotta.
